One hinge.Every rule.

Everything needed to use the Clockborn identity without diluting it. Decide every rule once, then protect it.

01Logo suite

A flip clock builds every character from two halves on a hinge. In CLOCKBORN the clock is still mechanism — every letter split on its hinge — until the B: whole, copper, born.

02Construction

Drawn, not typed.

CAPHINGE ½BASESEAMCLOCK · HINGEDBORN · WHOLE

Hinge

Exactly half the cap height, on every letter of CLOCK — the way a flip clock splits its flaps.

Gap

0.14 × stem weight: a true hairline, crisp from about 300 px wide. Below 120 px the solid cut takes over.

Seam

The hinge stops at the K. From the B onward every letter is whole: that boundary is the moment of birth.

Letters

One weight, squared rounds (superellipse), horizontal-cut terminals, spacing tuned pair by pair.

03Colour

Four colours, each with a job.

Ink and Bone carry almost everything. Steel draws the hinge. Copper is the B, and nothing else — its scarcity is what makes it mean something.

07Motion

Everything turns on the hinge.

Things never slide in at random. They open along the hinge, flip like a flap, or settle into place. Motion always respects reduced-motion settings.

The opening sequence on the home page: a line of time draws across the screen, CLOCK unfolds from it, the line gathers into a copper spark at the seam and the B is born. Then the screen opens along the hinge.

08App icon and small sizes

Clear at every size.

Three drawn cuts, not one scaled picture. At 32 px the hinge widens so it still reads; at 16 px it closes and the copper B carries the identity alone.

10Never

Six ways to break it.

✕ Never hinge the B — it is the one whole letter.
✕ Never recolour the B, or use copper anywhere else.
✕ Never stretch, squash or re-space the letters.
✕ Never add shadows, gradients, outlines or bevels.
✕ Never place it on copper — the B disappears.
CLOCKBORN
✕ Never retype the name in a font. Always use the artwork.

Say what the work does and what it is worth. Name the limits. Leave people feeling capable, not impressed.

Write "Clockborn" as one word with a capital C. In running text, never all caps — the capitals belong to the logo.

The name24–25 Oct 2026
Six rounds: invented words, two-word names, three-word phrases, then single words. Each round was turned down until one name stayed: Clockborn, a mechanism that becomes something alive. Every finalist was checked against domain registries and trademark records in India, the United States and the EU first.

The mark26 Oct 2026
Of several directions, Hinge was chosen: CLOCK split on a flip-clock hinge, the B whole and copper. The letters were then redrawn as clean curves, not typed.
The monogram study27 Oct 2026
The founder sketched the CB as a pair of glasses: the C turned over the B, its two counters as lenses. We built it, tested it from 16 to 256 pixels, and kept the original. The letters stay readable, and it cannot be mistaken for a robot face. Flip the tile to compare.
