Monitoring and SRE

Monitoring, alerts and reliability practices that tell you about problems before your users do.

Many teams learn about outages from customer emails. We instrument your applications and infrastructure with metrics, logs and traces, set service level objectives that reflect what users actually experience, and tune alerts so the ones that wake someone up really matter. When incidents happen, we help you respond, recover and learn from them.

What you get

  • Dashboards for latency, errors, traffic and saturation on each service
  • Centralised logs and distributed tracing across services and databases
  • Service level objectives and error budgets agreed with your product owners
  • Alert rules routed to on-call rotas, each linked to a response run-book
  • Synthetic checks that test key user journeys from outside your network
  • An incident process with severity levels and blameless review templates

How it works

  1. 01

    Observe

We review current monitoring, past incidents and the user journeys that matter most to your business.

  2. 02

    Instrument

Metrics, logs and traces are added to applications and infrastructure using open standards like OpenTelemetry.

  3. 03

    Define

We set objectives and alert thresholds with you, then remove noisy alerts that train people to ignore them.

  4. 04

    Respond

We join or run on-call, lead incident reviews and turn their findings into concrete reliability fixes.

Scope it now.

Answer a few questions and we prepare the email for you. Nothing is sent until you press send in your own email app.

Questions

Which monitoring tools do you use?

Open tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and OpenTelemetry when you want control and lower cost, or hosted tools like Datadog, New Relic or your cloud’s own monitoring when you prefer less to run. We choose together based on scale and budget.

What is a service level objective?

A target for how reliable a service should be, measured from the user’s side, such as the share of checkout requests that succeed quickly. It turns reliability into a number you can track and weigh against new features.

Can you provide 24/7 on-call?

We can join your on-call rota or cover agreed hours. The scope, hours and escalation path are set out in writing, so it is always clear who responds to an alert and how quickly.
