Office IT setup

Laptops, Wi-Fi, printers, accounts and device management set up properly for a small office.

Small offices often grow their IT one laptop and one shared password at a time. We set up the whole office together: staff accounts, managed laptops and phones, secure Wi-Fi with a separate guest network, printers and shared files. Every device is enrolled in management, so new starters are ready on their first day and a lost laptop can be locked remotely.

What you get

  • Staff accounts in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace with multi-factor sign-in
  • Laptops and desktops enrolled in device management, with updates and encryption on
  • Office Wi-Fi with separate staff and guest networks and changed admin passwords
  • Printers and scanners installed and reachable from every staff device
  • Shared drives or folders with permissions set by team
  • Joiner and leaver checklists for adding and removing staff and their devices
  • An asset register of devices, licences and network equipment, with owners

How it works

  1. 01

    Survey

We list staff, devices, software, the office layout and internet connection, and note what can be reused.

  2. 02

    Plan

We recommend accounts, device management, network equipment and any purchases, with the reasons for each.

  3. 03

    Set up

Accounts, Wi-Fi, printers and shared files are configured, and every device is enrolled and secured.

  4. 04

    Hand over

Staff are shown how to sign in and get help, and you receive the asset register and checklists.

Questions

Do we need a server in the office?

Usually not. For most small offices, cloud email, file storage and device management replace an on-site server with less hardware to maintain. We recommend local equipment only when something specific, such as large design files or a machine controller, needs it.

Can you work with the laptops we already have?

Yes, if they can run a supported operating system. We check each device, reset or enrol it into management, and flag any that are too old to keep secure so you can replace them on your own schedule.

Who do staff call when something breaks?

At handover we agree a support route. Some offices take ongoing support from us under a maintenance arrangement; others nominate an internal person, whom we train on the common fixes and the admin consoles.
