Personal finance apps

Budgeting and money apps that track spending, goals and accounts, with privacy and accuracy at the core.

People only trust a money app that is accurate and careful with their data. We build budgeting and expense apps that categorise transactions clearly, link bank accounts through consent-based channels such as India’s Account Aggregator framework or Open Banking, and keep sensitive data encrypted.

What we build

  • Budgets by category with rollover, alerts and a monthly review
  • Expense tracking from bank feeds, receipts, emails and manual entries
  • Account linking through Account Aggregator, Open Banking or Plaid
  • Savings goals, bill reminders and subscription tracking
  • Shared budgets for couples, families and housemates
  • Spending insights and monthly reports exportable to CSV or PDF

What it does well

Automatic categories

Transactions are sorted by merchant and pattern, and learn from each user correction.

Linked accounts

Bank and card data arrives through consented, regulated channels, never stored passwords.

Budget alerts

Gentle alerts warn before a category runs out, not after the money is gone.

Savings goals

Each goal shows progress, a target date and how much to set aside each month.

Subscription tracking

Recurring charges are detected so users can spot and cancel the ones they forgot.

Privacy first

Data is encrypted, analytics are minimal and users can export or delete everything.

Questions

How do you connect to users’ bank accounts?

Through regulated, consent-based channels: India’s Account Aggregator framework, Open Banking APIs in the UK and EU, or providers such as Plaid in the US. Users approve access with their bank, can revoke it at any time, and the app never sees their bank password.

Does a budgeting app need a financial licence?

Budgeting and tracking alone usually do not, but moving money, lending or giving investment advice often do, and the rules differ by country. We design the product so regulated features can be added through licensed partners, and your legal adviser confirms the position.

Can it read bank SMS messages on Android?

An Android app can read SMS only with the user’s permission, and Google Play restricts that permission to specific approved uses. We usually prefer Account Aggregator data and email or receipt parsing, and use SMS only where store policy clearly allows it.
