Progressive web apps
Web apps that install to the home screen, work offline and feel like native apps, from one codebase.
Not every app needs an app store. A progressive web app installs from a link, works offline through a service worker and updates when you deploy, with no review queue. We build PWAs for field teams, customer self-service and users on budget phones or costly data, and we tell you plainly where iOS still limits what a PWA can do.
What we build
- Offline-first field apps that cache forms and queue submissions until online
- Customer self-service apps installable from a link, QR code or SMS
- Ordering and catalogue apps light enough for low-end phones and slow networks
- Web push notifications on Android, desktop and iOS home screen apps
- Conversion of existing websites into installable, offline-capable PWAs
- Background sync and conflict handling for data edited on several devices

What it does well
Home screen install
A web app manifest and icons let users add the app to their home screen in a couple of taps.
Offline by design
Service workers cache screens and data, and changes queue in IndexedDB until online.
Small footprint
Downloads are usually far smaller than a native app, which matters on budget phones.
No store releases
New versions reach users on their next visit, without waiting for app store review.
Push notifications
Web push works on Android and desktop, and on iOS for apps added to the home screen.
One codebase
The same app runs on phones, tablets and desktops in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox.
Questions
What can a PWA not do that a native app can?
Access to some device features is limited, especially on iOS: Bluetooth, NFC and long background tasks are restricted, and iOS push works only once the app is added to the home screen. If your app depends on these, native or cross-platform is the better choice.
Can a PWA be listed in app stores?
Yes, in some. A PWA can be packaged as a Trusted Web Activity for Google Play, and listed in the Microsoft Store. Apple’s App Store needs a native wrapper and tends to expect native features, so we assess that case by case.
How does offline data stay in sync?
Changes made offline are stored on the device with a timestamp and sent when the connection returns. If the same record was changed elsewhere, rules you agree decide which edit wins, or the conflict is flagged for a person to resolve.
