Application security

Security checks built into the delivery pipeline, so flaws are caught in pull requests, not production.

A security review once a year cannot keep up with teams that release every day. We build application security pipelines that scan code, open-source dependencies, container images, infrastructure code and secrets on every pull request, explain findings inside the developer’s own tools, and stop releases that break agreed rules. Running applications are tested only with the owner’s written permission.

What we build

  • Static analysis with Semgrep and CodeQL rules tuned to your languages and frameworks
  • Dependency and licence checks with an SBOM generated for every build
  • Secret scanning that blocks keys and tokens before they reach the repository
  • Container and infrastructure-as-code scanning for images, Terraform and Kubernetes files
  • Authorised dynamic testing of staging environments with OWASP ZAP
  • Release gates in CI that fail builds on agreed severity and licence rules

What it does well

Checks in the PR

Findings appear as pull request comments while the developer still has the context.

Few false alarms

Rules are tuned to your codebase, and dismissed findings stay dismissed with a reason.

SBOM for every build

CycloneDX or SPDX bills of materials record exactly which components shipped.

Secrets blocked early

Pre-commit and server-side checks stop credentials before they are ever pushed.

Agreed release gates

Builds fail only on rules your team signed off, so the gates stay respected.

Signed artifacts

Images and packages are signed with Sigstore so deployments can verify where they came from.

Questions

Will this slow our pipelines down?

It should add seconds or a few minutes, not hours. Fast checks such as secret scanning and static analysis of changed files run on every pull request, while deeper scans run nightly or before release. We measure pipeline time before and after, and tune until your team is comfortable.

What is an SBOM and do we need one?

A software bill of materials lists every component and version inside a build. When a new vulnerability is announced, it tells you within minutes whether you are affected. Many enterprise buyers, and rules such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act, now expect suppliers to provide one.

Do you test live applications?

Only with the written permission of the system owner, against an agreed scope and time window, preferably in staging. Dynamic testing with tools such as OWASP ZAP is configured to avoid destructive actions, and every finding is reported to you with steps to reproduce and fix it.
