Code review

An independent review of your codebase, with clear findings ranked by risk and a recommended fix for each.

Whether you inherited a codebase, are about to buy one or simply want a second opinion, an outside review shows what is solid and what is fragile. We read the code, run static analysis and the test suite, check dependencies and build the project ourselves. Findings are ranked by risk, tied to files and lines, and each comes with a recommended fix.

What you get

  • A written report of findings ranked by severity, each linked to file and line
  • Static analysis and dependency vulnerability results, triaged by hand
  • A test coverage summary noting which critical paths lack tests
  • An architecture assessment covering structure, coupling and data handling
  • A prioritised fix list separating quick wins from larger refactors
  • A walkthrough meeting with your developers to discuss every finding

How it works

  1. 01

    Scope

We agree which repositories, modules and questions matter most, and get read-only access to the code.

  2. 02

    Analyse

Automated tools scan for known issues, then engineers read the critical paths by hand where tools miss context.

  3. 03

    Report

Findings are written up with severity, evidence and a recommended fix, leaving out matters of taste.

  4. 04

    Discuss

We walk your team through the report, answer questions and can review the fixes afterwards.

Scope it now.

Why do you want a review?
Roughly how large is the codebase?
What is the main language?
Can we build and run it?

Questions

Is this the same as a security audit?

It covers common security flaws visible in code, such as injection, weak access checks and leaked secrets. A penetration test goes further by attacking the running system with permission. Some clients start with a code review and add testing later.

Which languages can you review?

Mainstream languages including TypeScript and JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, Go, PHP, Kotlin and Swift. If your code uses something less common, we tell you at the scoping stage whether we can review it properly.

Do you need to run the code?

It helps. Building the project and running its tests ourselves shows whether it can be built from the repository at all, which is often a finding in its own right. Read-only access is enough for a static review.
