Technical due diligence
An independent check of a company’s technology before you invest in it, buy it or depend on it.
A pitch deck describes the product the founders hope to have. Due diligence looks at the one that exists. We read the code, inspect the infrastructure, check licences and security, and talk to the engineers. You get a plain-language report on what is solid, what will need money soon and what could stop the deal.
What you get
- An architecture overview of the product as it really is, not as described
- A code quality review covering structure, tests, documentation and hotspots
- An open-source licence scan flagging obligations that affect ownership or sale
- A security and infrastructure review, including hosting costs and single points of failure
- An assessment of the engineering team, its processes and key-person dependencies
- A risk report ranking findings as deal-breaking, price-relevant or minor
- Estimated effort to fix each significant finding, for use in negotiation
How it works
- 01
Request
We send a data-room request list and agree access to repositories, cloud accounts and engineers under your NDA.
- 02
Inspect
We review code, infrastructure, licences, security controls and delivery practices, logging every finding with evidence.
- 03
Interview
Founders and engineers walk us through the product so we can test claims and understand the context of each finding.
- 04
Report
You receive a ranked risk report and a debrief call, written for investors and deal teams rather than engineers.

Questions
How much access do you need?
Read access to source code, cloud and hosting accounts, issue trackers and documentation, plus a few hours with the lead engineers. Everything is covered by your confidentiality agreement, and we agree in advance how copies are handled and deleted after the report.
Can the target company see the report?
That is your decision. Some investors share a summary so the team can respond to findings, others keep it private. We can prepare a separate version that leaves out deal-specific commentary.
Do you give a pass or fail verdict?
We do not make the investment decision. We rank each finding by its effect on the deal and estimate the effort to fix it, so you can weigh technology risk alongside the commercial and legal findings.
