Technology strategy

A written plan for which systems to keep, replace, build or buy, and in what order, tied to your business goals.

Technology decisions often get made one purchase at a time, and the result is a pile of tools that do not talk to each other. We look at what you run, what it costs, where people work around it and where the business is heading. Then we write a roadmap that says what to change first, what can wait and what to stop paying for.

What you get

  • A map of every system you use, who owns it, what it costs and what it connects to
  • Interviews with the people who use each system, summarised by pain point
  • Build, buy or retire recommendations for each major system, with reasons
  • A phased roadmap with each step ordered by business value and dependency
  • Rough cost ranges and staffing needs for each phase of the roadmap
  • A one-page summary your leadership team can approve or challenge

How it works

  1. 01

    Listen

We interview owners and daily users, and collect contracts, licence lists and the spreadsheets that hold things together.

  2. 02

    Map

Every system, data flow and cost goes on one map, so overlaps, gaps and single points of failure become visible.

  3. 03

    Recommend

Options are compared on cost, risk and effort, and we recommend one path per decision with the trade-offs stated.

  4. 04

    Roadmap

The recommendations become a phased plan with owners, rough budgets and first steps your team can start on.

Questions

Will you just recommend building everything?

No. We recommend on fit, not on what we could sell you. Each recommendation lists the alternatives we compared and why one was chosen, so you can check the reasoning. If building is right we say so, and you are free to have anyone build it.

How much of our time does this take?

Mostly short interviews with the people who use and own each system, plus access to licence lists, invoices and any existing diagrams. We work around your calendar and keep a running list of open questions so nobody is asked the same thing twice.

What if we disagree with the roadmap?

Then we revise it. The roadmap stays a draft until you approve it, and every recommendation shows its reasons and the options we rejected, so your team can challenge the assumptions directly.
